Veterinary Technician
KEYWORD: MR7 Ch1 Do you like caring for animals? Veterinary
technicians perform many of the same tasks for
veterinarians as nurses do for doctors. Veterinary
technicians also do research that can help
animals. To care for animals, technicians must
know what the animals need to eat and how
they behave with other types of animals.
Large plant-eating animals, many of which
live in Africa, need to eat specific kinds of
grasses and trees. The table above shows
the approximate weight of some animals
and the approximate amount of food the
animals eat each day.
