A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE INSTITUTIONALIZING BLOCK REPRESENTATIVES IN EVERY COURSE

OF EACH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE OF XAVIER UNIVERSITY –ATENEO DE CAGAYAN

Whereas, the Buklod Atenista as the alliance of the student councils of Ateneo de Manila University,
Ateneo de Naga University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Ateneo de Davao University, Xavier
University – Ateneo de Cagayan, seeks to foster greater collaboration among the student bodies of the
five universities that share a common Ignatian heritage;

Whereas, the 27th Buklod Atenista Conference was held in Ateneo de Manila University last May 26 -29,
2010;

Whereas, a representative from each block system be mandated from all year levels for proper
information dissemination;

Whereas, each block will have a fair and proper representation;

Whereas, block representatives will serve as agents for efficient consolidation of concerns, suggestions
and opinions from the grassroots;

Whereas, for schools or colleges with no permanent blocking, determine a major subject from which
one representative be drawn out;

Whereas, college councils will facilitate its creation and implementation;

Whereas, the system of the Office of Student Affairs be improved to include and involve block
representation in leadership development programs;

Whereas, proper and timely implementation of activities, projects and programs of and for the students
be not limited to those of the Central Student Government, Student Organizations and College Councils
but that of the university as well;

Wherefore, be it resolved that block representatives be institutionalization in Xavier University – Ateneo

de Cagayan;

Wherefore, be it further resolved that institutionalization of block representatives be implemented

starting June 2010, in the 1st semester of Academic Year 2010-2011;

Wherefore, be it finally resolved that this resolution take effects upon approval of 2/3 of the Buklod
Atenista Congress.
