Football World Cup – South Africa 2010

This month everything will turn round the Football World Cup. A
real sport feast where many countries come together. Since the
beginning of the 19th Century, football has been very popular among
teams formed by people from the same village or town. Although
considered vulgar and banned by Kings and Queens, it has not only
survived but also become the most popular sport ever.

We talked about the Aparthteid, separateness and racial

segregation that was introduced in South Africa after the general
elections of 1948. Racial groups were divided and classified into
black, white, coloured and Indian. Each group had its own
neighbourhoods, education, medical care, public services which were
much more inferior to those the White race had. Nelson Mandela was
the man who led South Africa to democracy and fought for the
freedom of the oppressed races. He spent 27 years in prison.
The pupils of 6th form “C” and “D” are glad to present these
activities.
