electron is very small. Electrons are less then 0.06% of an atom’s total mass.
A proton has a mass that is about 1836 times of
an electron’s mass.
All the electrons from an atom creates a
negative charge which will balance the positive charge from the protons in the atomic nucleus. Electrons are found in a cloud which surrounds the nucleus.
Electrons move very fast, so it is impossible to
find out where they are at a specific time.
Atoms do not have an overall electrical charge,
going by the definition. This means that there must be a balance between the protons and electrons.
From here, we can infer that an atom has an
equal number of protons and electrons. The element that is the opposite of an electron is a positron.
A positron is similar to an electron.
The difference between them is that a positron
consists of electrical and all the other charges that has the opposite sign as the electron. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electron http://www.chem4kids.com/files/atom_electron.html http://education.jlab.org/qa/pen_number.html http://www.windows2universe.org/physical_science/physics/a tom_particle/electron.html http://www.phy6.org/Education/welect.html http://books.google.com.sg/books? id=yfTqAAAAMAAJ&q=Electrons&dq=Electrons&source=bl&ots =smSzzc_k8P&sig=G6u3uDCvtuyAi9P58iZvv2HDAXI&hl=en&ei =0UI1TMi_F8WyrAeSrM2uAw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result &resnum=6&ved=0CDgQ6AEwBQ http://antoine.frostburg.edu/chem/senese/101/electrons/
