Redford White, who became one of the top


comedians in the '80s and '90s, passed away
early this morning, July 25, at the age of 54.

Comedian Redford White passed away at 6:47


a.m. today, July 25. He was 54.

According to Tweets from his friends, Redford


died from complications of brain cancer. APO
Hiking Society's Jim Paredes, a close friend of
Redford, said in his Tweet that the comedian
died "peacefully."

Redford was first seen in the TV sitcom ^ 


 of Tito, Vic & Joey in the late '70's. He
played Mang Temi's (Bing Angeles) helper in
the school cafeteria.

Because of his unique brand of comedy, Redford became one of the top comedians in the '80s
starring in a string of hit movies like  
 (1981) with Pia Moran,    (1982),
   (1983) with Chiquito,    (1983) with Roderick Paulate,
 
     (1984) with Jess Lapid Jr.,  ^(1984), 

(1985),   !"#  (1984),  $%&  (1986), #'& "( ! 
(1988) with Regine Velasquez, and ) * + (1989).

In the '90s, his tandem with Eric Quizon in the sitcom  $ became so successful that
they also made a series of films based on their TV characters.

Redford continued doing lead roles in movies in the '90s, like ",  (1996) with

Martinez, ## #

On TV, his last two shows were GMA-7's   (2001-2007) and ABS-CBN's

The comedian, Cipriano Cermeno in real life, is survived by his wife Elena.

His remains lay in state at Sto. Niño de Maligaya Chapel in Caloocan City.
