INTRODUCTION TO THE CASE

Katharina Waldburg is a star performer at


Pierce and company. She deals with issues of
organizational behavior. But recently, she is
going off the rails.
She has exhibited erratic behavior by sending
crazy e-mails, misbehaving with immediate
boss Roland etc.
LEARNINGS FROM THE CASE
1.There is a need to integrate both commercial and
humane aspects of business.

2.Conflict of interest does arise between organizational


and individual objectives.

3.Managers should be sensitized towards handling of


such cases. They should be encouraged
to organize workshops, seminars, etc. on stress
management, balancing work and life etc.

4.Managers should be proactive in maintaining full


documentation about such incidents in
anticipation of possible lawsuits.
