Abstract

The purpose of individual research was aimed to analyze the degree of leadership of
Village Chief, Village Elder, Village Elder Assistant, and Community Chief in Sob Muei
District, Mae Hong Sorn Province. It studied cognition towards leadership’s role of those
local Chiefs. It also explored the obstacles on their duties and solutions. The research
instruments, the questionnaires, were completed by the 112 people of the Village Chief,
Village Elder, Village Elder Assistant, and Community Chief in Sob Muei District.

The finding included.

1. The samples of the Village Chief, Village Elder, Village Elder Assistant, and
Community Chief in Sob Muei District have the very high degree of intelligence,
knowledge and motivation. They are strive on solving their fellow people. Beside
that, they strongly impel to develop their own village. When solving the
complicate difficulties, they will ask some advices from the co-colleagues or the
Commander Chief. They affect of knowledge and involving in study trips to
experience new things. There are the attempts to serve their villagers at District
Officer, the support for traditional festivals, charities, and village religious
ceremonies. They are model for their fellowman as well.
2. The samples of the Village Chief, Village Elder, Village Elder Assistant, and
Community Chief in Sob Muei District have the very high degree of overall
cognition towards leader’s roles such as the adoration and amenable other
comments. They are well qualified with all situations, in the know of their
responsibilities, enable to solve serious problems prudently, and responsible to
their deeds.
3. The sample of the Village Chief, Village Elder, Village Elder Assistant, and
Community Chief in Sob Muei District’s attitude towards difficulties are of the
lack of knowledge; the lack of Demoncracy government, laws, and regulations
with the Ministry of Interior. The government budgets allocated to each district
are late when compared with other districts. The performance is difficult since the
various in ethnicities of each area. They offer some guidance to resolve the
problem by instructing the villagers their chief man’s roles, spreading the news to
the villagers, offering the proposed budget allocation in the development of
transportation routes and budgeting to purchase computer communications with
direct favour.
