coat, and a hat with black fringes.

- The Summoner treated lechers terribly, because they were rank low in
society. He is a deceitful liar and a thief, because he is a con artist. The
Yeoman is tricky, he tricked the Summoner. He is also a deceitful liar
and a thief.

- Chaucer does use irony and satire. The character is realistic to a


certain extent.

5) Through the description of the pilgrim, what have


you learned about fourteenth- century England?

- The Friar was described as dressed in a finely pressed garment. Based


on his description, he must’ve been in a higher class. In the fourteenth-
century they were dressed up often.
