BPD Continues Relentless Attack on Drug Activity in City

Large Scale Sweep targets East Side Trouble Spots

Buffalo Police Narcotic Squad Detectives completed two days of drug raids
on the city’s East Side by executing some 30 search warrants and the arrest
of at least 25 individuals.

“Some of the raids executed over last few days were tied to known shooters
and gang members in these areas”, said Police Commissioner Daniel
Derenda.

Mayor Byron W. Brown said, “The raids on the city’s East side were a direct
result of confidential tips received from concerned city residents and
excellent police work by the men and women of the Buffalo police
department”.

The Mayor added, “I want our law abiding residents and the criminals who
seek to harm their quality of life to know one important fact: our pursuit of
those responsible for criminal activities will be relentless and comprehensive
across the city. We will investigate all illegal actions, arrest the criminals
and put them in jail---period”.

In all, 25 arrests were made with 6 guns recovered, $10,000.00 in cash

seized and confiscated one and a half oz. of crack cocaine, marijuana and
various pills including Lortab.

In all, police executed search warrants on Carl, Cambridge, East Delavan,

Ernst, Glenwood, Moselle, Northumberland, Stevens and Sussex Streets plus
other areas including Bennett Village, Goodyear and Langfield.
