Brief Description of the Project :


Employees acting towards company goals and having a strong desire
to remain in
the organisation are very important for the success of a company. In order to g
enerate such
organisational commitment of the employees, the knowledge about what motivates
and satisfies
them is essential.
For some people work is a source of great
satisfaction; for many others it is the reason for dissatisfaction.
It is important that those employees experience positive feelings towards their
tasks.
Herzberg, Mausner, and
Snyderman (1999) pointed out that an employee, irrespective of if he/she is
working in an office or on a bench, will experience his/her tasks, as well as
the workday totally differently if the attitudes toward the job are good or if
they are bad.
Objective:
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate and analyse the factors which
motivate employees, under consideration of individual characteristics.
Further to this investiagate and analyse what motivates and satisfies the employ
ees at work in order to stimulate
them to perform their job as best as possible and to remain in the company.
