Use the latest Atheros driver which at this time is 5.3.0.67. If possible, avoid using WZCSVC and instead use the Atheros ACU. 3. Roaming - the 5.3.0. Driver and ACU allows one to configure roaming aggressiveness.

I would recommend that you implement the following recommendations for your customers who
use the Atheros wireless module.
1. Use the latest Atheros driver which at this time is 5.3.0.67.
2. If possible, avoid using WZCSVC and instead use the Atheros ACU. 3. Optimal Configuration
a. Power Management – CAM (or Off)
b. Wireless Mode – Isolate to exact wireless mode. For example, if running 802.11g only, set to wireless 2.4GHz 54Mbps. c. Transmit Power – In typical environments set to Maximum. However, in environments where numerous AP’s are overlapped set to transmit power of access points. d. Roaming – The 5.3.0.67 driver and ACU allows one to configure roaming aggressiveness. Typically, default works in most environments. However, in environments such as Misys customers that have only 1 to 3 access points, roaming can be kept to a minimum. Therefore setting roaming to roam less might help out. 2. Turn of background scanning by running the attached vBScript. I changed the script extension to .txt to get past firewalls. It must be changed to .vbs and then run. After running, please reboot.
