    MINUTES

    MUNICIPAL BUILDING COMMISSION

    June 24, 2010

    The Winfield Municipal Building Commission regular meeting was called to order
    at 7:32 p.m. on June 24, 2010 at the Winfield Town Hall by Huey Lovejoy,
    Chairman.

    Members Present: Huey Lovejoy, Pat Woodrum, John Marshall, and Dick
    Whitney.

    Members Absent: Claude Hunt

    Others Present: Mayor Ron Stone; Jackie Hunter, Town Recorder; Tim LaFon,
    Town Counselor; Gloria Chapman, Staff.

    Minute Approval – May 27, 2010 Regular meeting. Motion was made by John
    Marshall to approve the minutes, seconded by Dick Whitney. Motion carried.

    FINANCIAL REPORT – May 2010. Motion was made by Pat Woodrum to


    approve the May 2010 Financial Report, seconded by Dick Whitney. Motion
    carried.

    Reports – Infrastructure Projects. The Mayor reported that the United States
    Department of Agriculture has given approval for the Town to replace the bridge
    in Woodland Forrest, that the town has declared an emergency situation. The
    bridge will be replaced using Town funds that will be reimbursed under the USDA
    loan.

    Old Business:
    Sidewalk Improvement Project – Transportation Enhancement Grant.
    The Mayor reported that the sidewalk from Winfield High School to Winfield Way
    has been completed except for the adjacent dressing.

    Craigo Drainage Issue – Tim LaFon stated the issue has been sent to the
    Supreme Court for the appointment of a judge.

    New Business
    Lang Masonry - Pay Application #1 – Sidewalk Improvement Project
    Upon approval of Todd Schoolcraft of Michael Baker Jr, Inc., Dick Whitney
    moved to approve payment of Pay Application No. 1 from Lang Masonry in the
    amount of $34,048.80, which is 32% of the contracted amount of $116,913.00.
    John Marshall made a second. Motion carried.

    Proposal for a Winfield Community Center – John Marshall moved to give the
    Mayor permission to pursue a location for a Winfield Community Center. Pat
    Woodrum made a second. Motion carried.

    Adjournment: Motion was made by Pat Woodrum and seconded by Dick


    Whitney to adjourn at 8:09 until the next special meeting on July 22, 2010 at
    7:30.
