:unsure: i am just learning without any help in programeing a haas vmc VF-0 mill.i am haveing problems trying to work
out the correct matching speed and feed for tapping .am not very good at formule so i need something simple i can follow
as at the moment im basicly just makeing a bigger hole instead of a taped one either that or its tapping when it goes in
but ripping the thread back off when it reverses back to the given height .
i am hopeing to make a table of speeds and feeds for all kinds of taps as a quick reference .but need something simple
to work with .
can anyone help
i use the usuall metric,imperial,unf,unc taps and hopeing i can use the same formule .

I have a haas TM 2 and use Rigid tapping. (N98)

Speed = I always use 1000rpm
Feed = Seed x Pitch
i.e M5x0.8 feed @1000rpm = 1000x0.8 = 800

Exaple below of basic 10mm deep M5 Hole

M01
(5 MM M5 HSS TAP)
T1 M06
G90 G54
S1000 M03
G43 H1 D1
G00 X0. Y0. Z5.
G98 G84 Z-10. R1. F800.0
G80
G00 Z5.
G53 Z100. M09
G53 X-381. Y0. M05
M30

Hope this helps

This is one of the reasons i bought OneCNC as it does all this for you
