To prove that traingles on the same base and between same parallels are equal ion area

Given AB parallel cd now we have to draw BP parallel CR such that parallelogram ABCD and PBCR lie on
same base and between same paralles

Now here ABCD and PBCR lie on same base and same paralles are equal in area by the theorem

That is ar(ABCD)=ar(PBCR ) …………………..(1)

NOW AC IS THE DIAGONAL OF PARALLELOGRAM ABCD AND CP IS THE DIAGONAL OF PARALLELOGRAM

PBCR AND WE KNOW THAT DIAGONAL OF A PARALLELOGRAM DIVIDES IT INTO TWO TRAINGLE SOF
EQUAL AREA THAT IS

ar(ABC )=1/2 {MEANS HALF} ar ABCD …………………….(2)

AND ar (PBC )=ar1/2(PBCR)…………………………………….(3)

Equate (1) &(2)

That is

1/2ar(ABCD)=1/2 ar (PBCR) {since they have equal in area from equation no:1}

And from (2)and (3)

ar (ABC)=ar(PBC)
