Abstract:

Extracting road features and analyzing accidents are very important

contemporary issues for road construction and determining the road
safety on the road.

The purpose of this research Project is to develop a methodology to

obtain the geometric design of roads from images and to know the
road network as an important part of road safety analysis.

The research Project procedure is was to extract design road

features. This will be done by differentiating types of curves specially
spiral curve. The project is a complementary part to a previous work
which focused on straight and simple curves. The next step objective
of this project is to find a relationship between the geometric design
of roads and road safety and road accidents.

The integration between Methods which will be used in this research

are Remote Sensing and GIS will be used as key element in this
project..

The integration between Remote Sensing and GIS are was used as
tool to the methods which will help reach to the research target. Also,
this project will provide integration between Remote Sensing and
GIS.

The importance of this research project is to develop new detailed

road maps which can assist road safety agents and guide the road
designer to control and enhance road designing and improve road
safety and road safety analysis.
