※ An Foreigner Registration form, passport, and two photos (3×4㎝) are required and a service
charge is imposed.

※ The same preferential treatment as applied to foreign workers subject to the employment permit
system is to be provided to occupational trainees (E-8) from a country that signed a Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) with Korea whose status of sojourn is changed from E-8 to E-9 under
integration of employment permit schemes.

•When reporting a crime, it is necessary to calmly explain when,
where and how damage was incurred as well as the appearance,
belongings, characteristics and number of the criminal(s), the
direction of flight and the means of transport used for flight.
•By using the emergency call function of pay phones (dialing 112
after pressing the red emergency call button), it is possible to
report a crime at 112 without inserting coins.
•It is possible to dial 112 not only for reporting crimes, but also for
seeking help under other emergency conditions.

•When a traffic accident occurs, a driver must stop the vehicle and
check the results of the accident. In any case where there is an
injured person, the person should be transported to a nearby
hospital or wait for an ambulance at the site of the accident,
depending on the severity of injuries.
•After completing necessary emergency measures, it is required to
dial 112 and report the place of the accident, number and degree
of injuries, existence of any damaged items, level of damage,
measures taken and other details.
•Circumstantial evidence on the accident must be collected. The
trace or type of objects affected by the accident should be
marked and photographs of the accident site be taken from
different angles. It is advisable to mark the site of the accident on
a road with spray paint. In addition, it is important to secure
witnesses.
•When an accident is not reported to the police, it is desirable to
collect an accurate written confirmation of the accident (including
the time, place and details of the accident) from the party at fault
and require him/her to report the accident to his/her insurance
company at the site of the accident.

•The holder of a driver's license issued by recognized foreign •
authorities may have a Korean driver's license issued, based on
an aptitude test or an aptitude test and simple written test, when
submitted with required documents such as an embassy-issued •
written confirmation proving the authenticity of his/her driver's
license.
※ Regarding foreign driver's licenses, the effect of only full licenses is acknowledged.
Temporary licenses, learner, provisional or probationary licenses, and driving permits
and certificates cannot be exchanged for a Korean driver's license.
