ABSTRACT

A fire extinguisher is an active fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires,

often in emergency situations.

Musa paradisiacal L peel is rich in potassium, calcium, sodium, iron, manganese, bromine,

rubium, strontium, zirconium, niobium and carbon. This research assumes that Musa paradisiacal L peel

will be an effective additive of fire extinguisher.

This study is delimited in the use of Musa paradisiacal L peel ash as an additive component to

fire extinguisher with its effectiveness and ratio study to fire extinguisher.

This experimentation successfully utilized the Musa paradisiacal L peel ash as a component of

fire extinguisher. Upon the determination for its effectiveness, the time it took to extinguish fire on pieces

of cotton, denim, cardboard and wood decreased by half the time it took for the ascetic acid and Sodium

bicarbonate alone to extinguish the destructive fire. When the ratio of Musa paradisiacal L peel ash to the

fire extinguisher mixture of ascetic acid and Sodium bicarbonate was increased, the time it took to

extinguish the fire was faster than the previous ratio.
