One night I dreamed I was wal king al

beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my l i
fe flashed across the
sky.
In each scene I noti ced footprints i
n the sand.
Someti mes there were two sets of footpri nts,
other times there was one set of footpri nts.

This bothered me because I noti ced

that during the low peri
ods of my life,
when I was sufferi ng from
anguish,sorrow or defeat,
I coul
d see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,

“You promi sed me Lord,
that i
f I foll
owed you,
you woul d wal
k with me always.
But I have noti ced that during the most
trying periods of my li
fe
there have only been one set of footprints i
n
the sand.
Why,when I needed you most,have you not
been there for me?”

The Lord repl

ied,
“The ti

s when I carried you.
”
