authorized shares
The maximum number of shares of stock that a company can issue. This number is s
pecified initially in the company's charter, but it can be changed with sharehol
der approval. Generally a much greater number of shares are authorized than requ
ired, to give the company flexibility to issue more stock as needed. also called
authorized stock or shares authorized.
What is authorized Capital?
the money made by a company from the sale of authorized
shares of common and preferred stock. It is measured by
multiplying the number of authorized shares by their par
value.
Authorized capital is the capital to which an organization
is authorised to use in the business and maximum amount that can be used for the
working of organization.
Issued Shares
What Does Issued Shares Mean?
The number of authorized shares that is sold to and held by the shareholders of
a company, regardless of whether they are insiders, institutional investors or t
he general public.
Issued capital
the value of the shares issued to shareholders. This means the nominal value of
the shares rather than their actual worth. The amount of issued capital cannot
exceed the amount of the authorised capital
