PRESS RELEASE

On 12/16/2010 at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Ansonia Police Department assisted by

the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at 39
Larovera Terrace. The entry team secured the residence and a Hispanic male was located
in the basement. No other persons were located in the residence. The male, identified as
Jose Estevez (DOB 02/01/1965) of Convent Road, Nanuet NY, was hand-cuffed and
secured.

The search team made a systematic search of the residence. Located in the basement
were 261 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth. Also located were numerous
ballasts, an air conditioner units, heating lamps, an irrigation system and several heaters.
Located in the middle bedroom on the second floor were 4 suspected marijuana plants.
Also located was a ballast, heating lamps, hoses and a heater. Located in the great room,
above the garage were 47 suspected marijuana plants. Also located were numerous
ballasts, an air conditioner, heating lamps, an irrigation system and several heaters. A
black Ford Explorer was seized.

Estevez was then taken into custody and transported to Police Headquarters. Estevez was
processed and charged with the following:

1) Operating a Drug Factory in violation of CGS 21a-277(c)

2) Cultivation of Marijuana in violation of CGS 21a-246(a)
3) Possession of > 4 oz. of Marijuana in violation of CGS 21a-279(b)
4) Possession of Marijuana with intent to sell in violation of CGS 21a-277(b)
5) Possession of Marijuana with intent to sell within 1500' of a Day Care in
violation of CGS 21a-278a(b)
6) Possession of Marijuana within 1500' of a Day Care in violation of CGS
21a-279(d)
7) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in violation of CGS 21a-267(a)

Estevez is held on a $250,000 bond and given a court date of 12/17/2010.
