Abstract
In the present turbulent and fierce competitive era, there will be only survival
of the fittest. For thriving in a work environment, the businesses, organizatio
ns, institutes and not only their employees but the future workforce needs to kn
ow the essentials for today’s workplace. Is there something more than just the har
d skills that are essential to acquire a job, continue a job and be successful a
t workplace? Then why is the success ladder of some employees so smooth, their c
areer flourishing and perfect work-life balance? Today employers are not just se
eking hard skills but they are seeking workers who have soft skills, including a
ttitude with aptitude, regularity and punctuality, character development, respon
sibility and accountability, dependence and in other words, a strong work ethic.
Thus it becomes vital to understand the organization requirements, to increase
employability for the graduates, to turn at-risk youth into contributing citizen
s, interpersonal skills are required, for this purpose the researchers have trie
d to study the behavior pattern of the employees and used decision tree algorith
m specifically J48 classifiers to obtain the outcome. The results show that em
ployees who participate in organization building activities by giving suggestion
s and recommendation, critically examining and evaluating procedures and keep co
mmenting on processes stand high on corporate ethics and values. Thus we should
be appreciate and encourage people who keep on giving suggestion. The second imp
ortant positive ethical behavior relate to employees having high religious belie
fs and practices. The uniqueness of this paper is that the researchers have focu
sed to highlight the positive and the negative behaviors of the employees and ap
plied scientific methods to analyze the behavioral pattern. We believe that this
work will play a constructive role in building value organizations. This paper
shall help to incorporate ethics into work system that can help in enhancing pro
ductivity, work independently, take responsibility and have accurate perception
of own abilities. It shall help the decision makers and management in retaining
and attracting employees and customers alike.
