    MORSE CODE

    Introduction: Morse code is a method of


    transmitting textual information as a series of on-
    off tones, lights, or clicks that can be directly
    understood by a skilled listener or observer without
    special equipment.

    History: A related but different code was originally


    created for Samuel F. B. Morse's electric telegraph
    in the early 1840s.

    Description: The International Morse Code encodes


    the Roman alphabet, the Arabic numerals and a small
    set of punctuation and procedural signals as
    standardized sequences of short and long "dots" and
    "dashes.

    Use : In the early part of the twentieth century,


    most high-speed international communication used
    Morse code on telegraph lines, undersea cables and
    radio circuits.
