During the transistor in on condition, the input voltage is impressed across the inductor
causing a linear rise in current. The diode is reversed biased by the output voltage and the
load current is supplied entirely by the capacitor. The inductor will be charged and the
voltage across its similar with to the input.

When transistor is switched off for a time t off, the inductor current dive rts through the diode
and a reverse voltage of ( V on - Vin) is impressed across the inductor causing fall in current I L.
