STATE OF MISSISSIPPI Office of the Governor 4 EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 1047 ‘TO THE COMMISSIONER OF THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS: WHEREAS, GLADYS SCOTT, Mississippi Department of Corrections No. 19142, was sentenced in Cause Number 4528 in Scott County, Mississippi on October 4, 1994, to serve life sentence on two convietions of robbery with the use ofa deadly weapon; and, WHEREAS, GLADYS SCOTT has served over sixteen years of her sentence, and hhas volunteered 10 donate one of her kidneys to her sister, Jamie Scott, Mississi Department of Corrections No. 19197, whose ongoing medical costs create a substantial cost to the State of Mississippi; and, WHEREAS, GLADYS SCOTT, intends to move to the State of Florida upon her release NOW, THEREFORE, |, Haley Barbour, Governor ofthe State of Mississippi, under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of this State, do hereby grant to GLADYS SCOTT, No. 19142, an indefinite suspension of sentence, pending her future good behavior and on condition that same may be revoked at any time, without notice or hearing, for violation of any of the conditions set out by the Mississippi Department of Corrections or for any reason deemed suffiient by the Governor in his sole discretion GLADYS SCOTT shall be under the supervision of the Mississippi Department of Corrections during and throughout the period of this suspension of sentence as though on parole and all rule and regulations skal apply; and, by accepting this suspension of sentence, GLADYS SCOTT agrees to be bound by all ofits provision and conditions, including that she shall donate one of her kidneys to her sister within one-year of her release. ‘This indefinite suspension of sentence shall become effective and commence onee you certify that all applicable constitutional and statutory notice requirements have been met, and ‘once the State of Florida approves the request for Gladys Scotto relocate there. I reserve the Fight to rescind, revoke, amend, or modify this Executive Order, both before and after that date and time, [authorize and direct you, upon receipt of this Executive Onder, to take notice and be ‘governed accordingly IN WITNESS WHEREOF, | have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Mississippi to be affixed.
