Missionary Connections Project
Due February 17

With this project, we will make gain a better understanding of what the God is doing
through His people around the world. We will make real connections with missionaries and
encourage them with letters and prayer throughout the semester.

Steps:

1. Select a career missionary(s) that your church or family supports. They must be
currently serving or on furlough.
2. Turn in their name and country of service by January 21.
3. Design a tri-fold pamphlet that describes your missionary and their work. Include:
a. Their name and a photograph
b. A map pinpointing their city and country of service
c. Country demographics—
i. Size and population
ii. Economic status
iii. Major religions
iv. Form of government
v. Country’s climate and geographical features
vi. Other cultural points of interest
vii. 2 pictures depicting life in that country
d. Describe the missionary’s work
i. Their sending organization (ABWE, CAM, To Every Tribe, etc)
ii. Specific people groups they reach
iii. Kinds of work they do (medical, construction, etc)
iv. Spiritual ministries they are involved in
v. How we as a class can pray for them
4. Contact the missionary either by email or letter to tell them about our class project.
a. Let them know:
i. A little bit about you as an individual, our geography class, and our school
ii. We are praying for them this semester.
iii. Ask: What can we pray about specifically, either for them or the people
they serve?
b. If sending an email, please print the email out of your sent file to show this was
completed.
c. If mailing a letter, have a parent send a note verifying that your letter was
mailed.
5. Letter/Email and Pamphlet are due February 4.
6. Throughout the semester, we will be praying for them all and will showcase your
missionary when we discuss their country in class.
