Development of Coal mine Safety System Using Wireless Sensor Network

• Our project Title was Development of Coal mine Safety System Using Wireless
Sensor Network and the team members are srinath raju and sandeep.

Idea behind the implementation of this project was:

• The Existing monitoring of coal mine undergoes underground cable network
and have high incidence of failures.
• With the working surface expanded, a blind area for monitoring appears, and then
the new cost for installation and maintenance is needed.
• When an accident happened, especially explosion, the sensors and cables usually
were damaged fatally, and couldn't provide information for rescue search and
detection events.

Solutions for that:

• Wireless network makes a better solution for this. how in the sense no wire
breakage and no value mismatch due to expansion of cable will be in wireless
network .
• The best wireless network is Zigbee why means this provide a high data rate, full
duplex mode, accurate, low cost, easy to installation, long life and low power
consumption within the limited area .
• And also we can share the same data which we receiving from underground
system to all and will be distributed to remaining network node for easy way of
update the sensors parameters and other activity like any intimation also.

Description: This project consists two sections.

• The first section is underground section and another section is ground section.
In under ground section the sensors will sense the environment conditions such as
temperature, humidity, gas etc.and this information is send through zigbee
transmitter.
• In ground section zigbee receiver take that information and send to the controller
and controller sends the information to PC and as well as displays on the LCD.

Technology: TECHNOLOGY USED IN THIS PROJECT IS ZIGBEE

• Hardware components:
Microcontroller; Power supply; PC; LCD; Sensors (temperature ,humidity, gas)

Conclusion:
• By implementing this project we can give better solution for coal mine
underground system and outside communication , also very easy to intimate any
important message and also large number of node can communicate via zigbee.
