The FCC has ordered SprinvNextel to update agency's radio equipment and/or relocate agency frequencies that will not convert to the reassigned frequencies. ‘Our recent upgrade to the radio system willbe effected on a Kimited bess for several of the current city frequencies. When we Went into the new interoperable system with the City of Ridgeland and Hinds County, the new system control panel is located in Hinds County dispatch center. The same ‘holds true for the City of Ridgeland, { Authorization is requested to allow the overall system manager, Captain John Wilson. ofthe Hinds ‘County Sheriff Department to negotiate for all three entities with Sprint/Nextel inthe rebanding effort. All entities will be kept infosmed during the process. Lhave been advised that a reprogramming fee of $125,000.00. may be charged.
