Practical training is compulsory program for the students of Faculty of Communication
and Media Studies. I started my internship program on 14 December 2009 until 31 March 2010 in Ministry Of Transport (MOT), under Cooperate Communication Unit. I have put into practice for what I have acquired in theory in classes such as PR Writing, Publicity and Event Management, Corporate Communication and also Persuasive Communication. Even though, Cooperate Communication unit of MOT is small but I think that the unit is forefront of the organization as it is responsible to maintain the image and its reputation. There were a lot of things that I have learned during my practical training period from folding a letter to write speech for Minister. There were a lot of experiences that can be obtained through the practical training program. I have mingled around with the government’s staff, medias, learned a few about the government system, felt the reality of PR practices, learned the difficulty of doing the task for the first time etc. Those experiences are priceless and I know it can be a turning point for me to improve my PR skills and expand my knowledge about administration of government system etc
