The St. Pius School Community strives to follow Jesus

Week in Review …
The children worked hard all week learning about
contractions, the R Family, related math facts, and
the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. They tried very hard to be
patient, kind, gentle, peaceful, joyful, use self-control
and act lovingly toward one another. I am proud of
how they tried to put what we are learning into
practice. Each day is a chance for them to grow and
do more!
Next week in Religion …
We will be sharing the stories of the Good Samaritan
and the Proud Tree. No Religion test this short week.
Next week in Reading/Phonics …
We will take a break from our F.A.S.T. readers this
week. We will be reading a short chapter book, Flat
Stanley. The children will be assigned a book report
for their Tuesday library book. The reports will be due
Tuesday, April 5.
Student story readers will be: Tuesday-Julia,
Wednesday- Lilly, Thursday- Xander, and Friday-
Quintin.
Next week in Spelling …
The spelling words for Friday, April 1 are: haven’t,
don’t, we’ll, they’ll, she’s, it’s we’re, we’ve, I’m,
they’re.

Next week in Math…
We will be using addition facts to help us subtract
and learning how to solve multi-step problems.
The test for Chapter 11 will be on Thursday,
March 31st. Please continue to review the basic
addition facts through 18. Please also begin
reviewing the basic subtraction facts. We will
begin having subtraction fact tests as well as
addition.
Next week in Social Studies/Science…
In Science we will continue in Unit C, Chapter 2, “Earth’s
Air and Water.” The test will be Friday, April 1st.
Next week in English/Handwriting …
April is National Poetry Month. We will be spending time
reading, sharing and writing various forms of poetry. We
will also be working with antonyms, synonyms, and
putting words in alphabetical order.

• Library books due Tuesday, March 29th
• Book reports due Tuesday, April 5
• READ IN/PAJAMA DAY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30TH
