Living with Weapons

It is not normal in the developed world to hear about access of weapons, neither in adults nor the
children can have access to them. This dark reality is most common in third world countries where
corruption, Mafia and organized crime are the principals sponsors.

Sadly, it is a reality that we wanted would have not existed since thousands of young people and
children in my country have not other choice than violence to survive. Also, are forgotten by society
which do not give them the opportunity to educate. So, generating more poverty, hatred, rejection
and ignorance.

Surprisingly, the number of armed children is increasing steadily, as poverty increases and family
structures continue to break down. What is more, this type of families is usually large and none of
its members have access to education, increasing the risks of illiteracy and in many cases are their
parents who sent them to commit criminal acts to supply their needs.

What can we do? No doubt the best way to eradicate violence is through education. Indeed,
politicians are well aware of that rule. But unfortunately, corruption is very present in these
countries that feel threatened by people's education. However, there is hope that relief organizations
continue striving in order to achieve the welfare of the poorest, pressing their governments to take
actions. Or is there something better than peace and equality in the world?
