Dixon May 12, 2011 Cindy Carpenter Dear Commissioners Furmon, Dixon and Carpenter, It is with some mixed feelings that I announce my upcoming retirement from public service. Ihave certainly appreciated these last thirteen years, during which time you and other Commissioners have afforded me the opportunity to serve the citizens of Butler County. It has been service I never took for granted, and always felt privileged to be able to offer. T have always appreciated the support I was given by the Board of Commissioners to integrate the services of our Department of Job and Family Services with other fine services that are offered throughout our community by private non-profit organizations equally committed to improving the lives of our citizens. 1 am pleased to say that I will continue to live in the community and serve much the same constituency as the President and CEO of the Butler County United Way. ‘As you know, I served on the United Way Board of Trustees for over ten years, my final two as Board Chair. I feel a deep commitment to the mission of the Butler County United Way, and look forward to continuing collaborative relationships with other private non-profits and public agencies toward the organization’s two ends: helping Butler County youth become successfitl adults, and helping Butler County families achieve self- sufficiency. 1 anticipate my last day with the County will be June 3, and I will begin my new responsibilities with the Butler County United Way on June 6, 2011. Between now and then, I remain at your service, After then, I hope to be able to count on the County, as one of the community’s leading employers, to provide continuing support and assistance to the Butler County United Way and its mission. ‘Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Butler County, and best of luck as you continue to address the challenges we have faced together over these past several years.
