Student Ministry Pastor Position

This is a 20-25 hr./week position, with the possibility to become fulltime for the right
candidate. Compensation will be dependent on experience and education.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years Youth Ministry leadership experience
- Bachelors degree (ministry emphasis desired)
- Must be in agreement with our doctrinal statements.

POSITION DETAILS:
- Oversee the Youth Program (6th grade – college ages)
- Find curriculum for junior high, high school, and college groups (often 6th – 9th grade,
10th – college age groupings), and train volunteer leaders to teach the material
- Organize Youth worship time (Sunday/Wednesday nights)
- Organize Bible study time (Sunday morning/night, Wednesday night)
- Lead Junior Church (ages 3-8) during Sunday a.m. worship (BI-MONTHLY)
- Plan/organize monthly Youth events
- Plan/organize fundraising events
- Attend to the spiritual growth of students, even helping in college/career planning
- Be as active as time will allow in the various schools/extracurricular activities of the
Youth (over eight schools represented in the group!)
- Work directly with the Senior Minister for planning/outreach purposes
- Assisting with the planning/execution of yearly events (Easter, VBS, Revival,
Homecoming, Trunk-or-Treat, Christmas Program, etc.)
- Participation in church events when/where appropriate
- Outreach to ‘fringe’ students and their families.
- Able to take on additional duties as need arises (realize that these are the basic
duties of the position).
- Availability to preach on occasion

DESIRED SKILLS:
- Basic website maintenance (updating church website, training provided)
- Musical involvement (current Youth Minister leads Youth worship times)
