We have been here for a couple weeks and the campus is bustling with activity in preparation for the school year beginning next week, Much renovation is being done throughout the campus to make the buildings feel fresh and wel- coming fo our new students, Mercy Home The Mercy Home has added a few more boys, bringing us to 33 children at our Nallur campus and 13 at Idukki, The boys have had a relaxing summer with a variety of chores mixed in, including tending to the growing amount of trees that we are planting through the campus. The wardens, Sam and Pastor Vishwanathan, have done well maintaining a solid balance between fun and dis- cipline. The children started school on June | and are looking sharp in their uniforms. We cannot express enough about how great a privilege it is to welcome these wonderful kids into our Mercy Home. Though we are limited in our resources, we offer a place that provides them with meals, beds, clothing, education and a strong love for the Lord. Just by watching the boys walk across the campus with arms around each other and to hear them noisily having fun conversing in the evening shows us that your continued prayers and support are going a long way in bringing joy into their lives, Rhema Bible College (RBC) Applications are coming in and students are making early appearances as classes start on June 6 We're excited for a new year to train called men of God info sharp and welkeducated ministers of the Gospel. the registrar, Pastor Lijo, has been busy preparing documentation for the incoming students and in scheduling great courses for the semester. Many of the students have yet fo come because they must travel long distances from their home states, with some of them taking even a week's journey by train to reach Mizpah’s campus. Pray that our Bible college students wil arrive safely and on time. Mizpah English Medium School (MEMS) What a great testimony this school is becoming to our community! We started the elementary school with just 17 students a few years ago, and now we're looking at over 90 students and counting. Nothing preaches the Gospel best than to put our words into action and be a beacon of love fo those around us. The schoo! is offering us a great chance to interact with many Hindu and Muslim families and better educate the up and coming generation. We're quickly realizing that at the rate of growth the school is currently on, we'll need to add another building and more teachers within the year. With our current budget being as tight as itis, we can only do little, but we serve a faithful God who has given us many avenues to be a light in the darkness. Churches The Mizpah pastors gathered for a workers’ meeting a few days ago fo report on the state of their churches and to worship together as a unified body of soldiers. It fruly is motivating to see pastors work so hard to care for their flock and to expand the reach of the Gospel in their areas. We have been able to minister at a few of the churches in the past couple weeks and will continue visiting churches until the end of the month. Weddings Normally, a wedding isn't thought of as great avenue for evangelism, but here in India, with many of our churches thriving with new converts, the bride and groom often have large numbers of Hindu relatives and friends. Within the first week of our stay here, Pastor Roy was able to officiate over three weddings. Two of these weddings were held in large auditoriums filled with people who have never had a chance to hear the Gospel. While performing the ceremony, we were able to openly preach the Gospel. We thank God for the opportunity to minister boldly and creatively. | . Administration We're sad to see our Director, Pastor Philip, leave Mizpah as he wishes to take care of his ailing father. Pastor Philip has faithfully served our growing ministry for the past four years in all aspects of administration, finances, and business. He served as the vice-principal of Rhema Bible College and taught a number of classes. He also ministered frequently among the Mizpah churches. Pray for him and his family as they embark on a new path in their life. Also, Pastor Roy was able to finish his exams for his Masters in Divinity during his first week here in India. He is now pursuing a Master's in Theology. Communications We have been revamping our communications department this year with an updated website at www.mizpahministry.org and will continue to do so in the coming weeks with pictures and informa- fion from this summer. Also, within the next few months, we are planning on releasing a series of videos that wil hopeful give you a great look info the various areas of Mizpah GoodNews Minis ries. God has been creat to bring us thus far, but He has also been wonderful in giving us a tremendous vision of where the ministry is headed. He has laid burdens and plans in our hearfs that we know can only be fulfilled in dependance of His mercies. We hope that as we communicate with you through email, newsletters, the website and videos, your heart for the lost will also be in tune with what God has laid on our hearts.
