Flood is one of the most common natural disasters that significantly affect our lives, especially those who

live in flood-prone areas. Flood hazards can be local, affecting a small community or locality or very large affecting multiple states or an entire country. Heavy rainfalls are one of the major causes of floods. The level of water in rivers or lakes rises due to heavy rainfalls. When the level of water rises above the rive banks or dams, the water starts overflowing, which causes floods. Causes 1. Floods are formed when big waves are rolled on normally dry places. 2. Rain can also cause floods when it rains more than the land can handle.

3. Floods can happen after a hurricane, such as after hurricane Katrina it flooded the neighborhoods in New Orleans. Effects 1. Floods can make people drown and die. 2.Floods can destroy a lot of peoples homes. 3. It can flood a lot of places that we really need like homes, stores and much more. 4.Most of people will lost their precious things such as house, cars and they also lost their important document. Besides, they also lost lots of money.

How to prevent flood? The best way is give the people some advices to thinking twice when they want to throw their garbage to the river near their house, and not only just thinking, but also the next step is force the people to bury their organic garbage into the ground, and collect synthetic garbage to throw it to the dump area that enabled to recycle their synthetic garbage.
