It goes deeper than just cutting expenditures. Mr. Walz should be the one to step up and take on issues like the large pensions paid out to non workers. Our state pays out millions of dollars and benits per year to people that do not work for the state any more. We can not aord pensions in the private sector and I wonder if Mr. Walz as a member of the Teachers union is receiving benits from the state of MN even though he is no longer teaching?

since politians cannot agree, lower every dept of gov by a % equally Then later they can pick and choose . and solve the problem as to which should be cut out completely since they are not going to be able to get that accomplished in time.

I do not consider continuing the Bush tax cuts to be a 'government expenditure' that is tortured logic and wrong thinking

One area to start in is to move away from paper checks and go to a direct deposit system for all government checks.

eliminate wasteful, redundant programs, subsidies, totally kill pork, reduce congress's benits. Its their failure to do their jobs that got us here!
Elimination of lifetime benets for govt. elected ocials and reduction in their pay & benets

Cannot cut from just one of these areas. All areas should be considered.

wasteful expenditures and overpayments for services to government agencies. ex. road work on a state road is paid at a much higher rate than the same work done on acounty or local road. Overpayment on parts for government work. Welfare and programs for people who aren't even American citizens, paid for by those who are and are not able to make it on their own, while working overtime at service jobs.
12,698,500
All the above have some fat to be cut along with government subsidies, downsize/combine/close federal agencies, congressional gyms, etc. No one or two areas should shoulder the burden but everything has to be on the table and cuts need to come from everywhere.
We all need to share in the responsibility, burden, and pain of working to x this.

Funding for anything must be reduced along with the size of the government payroll. Also cut all the UNNECESSARY funding for silly research projects, aid to foreign governments (except in humanitarian/catastrophic/emergency situations) - until we get our "house" back in order.

Government benets (especially free health care and retirement), Government advertising, Repeal the internet tax act so we can collect sales tax on internet sales, NASA, Extensions to welfare and unemployment, and dozens of other areas that would aect none of the above.

Abolish the Obama Healthcare plan. Quit Subsidizing ACORN. Give businesses tax cuts that will promote employment that will put more money in the coers. There are alot of places that cuts can be made to reduce waste. Make Congress be on the same programs they expect us to be on. Alot of things would change then. There are two dierent sets of rules.
There are programs that can be cut in every area of the Federal goverment

Why would you not have Human Services and Federal jobs as options. We allow our infrastructure to deteriorate, we pour more money into education with declining results, and we hire more federal jobs with ridiculous benets and retirements that create no prosperity, and there isn't a box to check for that. These are nonessential positions that we ll and it isn't a one time payment, but rather ongoing for each aid recipient or government employee. Please maintain our infrastructure and reduce our federal workforce and human services drain.
