Family Courts not meant for Divorce only The general notion of the common run is that family

courts are meant for divorce only. In fact, the very establishment of Family Court is to encourage the process of conciliation and settlement of matrimonial disputes. In all the cases, the first procedure in the Family court is a personal counseling of the parties. Both the parties, whether it be the husband or wife or parties appearing on maintenance cases and guardianship cases, all have to undergo the procedure of personal counseling under the guidance of professional counselor appointed in Family Courts. Apart from divorce, the cases for maintenance, restitution of conjugal rights, return of money and ornaments, injunction in connection with matrimonial properties etc, can be filed in Family Courts.
