A RARE PRESENTATION OF ACINIC CELL CARCINOMA

Abstract The differential diagnosis of neck mass covers a broad spectrum of diseases and carries implications for management as varied as any area of medicine. Here is a 38yrs old male patient who came with h/o painless swelling in left side of neck since 1 yrs, present behind the angle of mandible,progressive in nature . On examnation a soft swelling,mobile in nature not increasing in size with valsalva maneuver was found .Systemic examination was found to be within normal limits.Patient was investigated keeping in mind differential diagnosis of Tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, lymphoma and branchial cyst. USG-neck read as - multiple necrotic lymph nodes ? tubercular etiology and the cytology as a benign cystic lesion. Patient was planned for surgery , a complete excision was done and specimen sent for histopathological examination which was reported as ACINIC CELL CARCINOMA IN BRANCHIAL CYST . Now patient is being followed up. This is a rare presentation of acinic cell carcinoma.
