Most of the musical heroes of my youth, along with many of the friends with whom we have shared the stage over our careers, and some of the brightest, new talent serving the Lord around this country, gathered in our town to spend a memo- rable day together just praising the Lord, There were more Dove Awards, Grammy Awards, gold records, and Silver Eagle bus miles represented in that room than at any time and place I can ever remember. Many of these gracious artists were legends to those of us who love gospel music. There were performers from many walks of life, from many different Parts of the country. Some had just experienced great victories, some had just experienced deep sorrow, some just wanted to come and drink it all in, and some just didn’t want to miss all of the fun. Sounds like any group of people that gather together to enjoy each other's company and remember the One who brings us all together in a bond that time and distance cannot erase. The singing that day still rings in my ears. Many of the songs. that we shared are found on the pages of this book. Like the people who gathered with us on that day, these songs have been close to my heart for many years; they are like old, dear friends to me. I hope they are to you as well. | have put together a collection of pic- tures taken at our grand homecoming celebration. I hope that you will take the time to get together with some of your friends and share these songs and the videos we have pre- pared of these special times.
