FOOD VOCABULARY GAMES

1. Bingo Age: over 12 Level: II How to play: Students draw nine squares on a sheet of paper and in each square they write a word denoting food. After five minutes the teacher reads the word list he/she has prepared. Each student ticks the words which appear on the teachers list as well. The first student who will tick three consecutive words (across or down) shouts Bingo! Ex: Teachers word list Topic: FOOD

fried potatoes fruit salad apple pie

steak vegetable salad hamburger

sausages chocolate mousse beans

2. Lets create words Age: 12-14 Level: I How to play: The teacher divides the class into two groups and then gives each student a letter of the alphabet. Next, he/she reads one word on the list already prepared for this and students in Group1 try to arrange their letters in order. Students in Group2 will check if the word is written correctly. If it is, G1 get a point and if not the point is won by G2. In case G1 make a mistake and G2 dont notice, neither of the groups gets the point.

3. Nouns or verbs?

Age: 12 Level: II Task: Are the words in italics nouns or verbs? Look them up in the dictionary and choose the correct definition: I dont like the taste of tomatoes. She loves lamb chops. Grate the cheese! Put the wood in the grate. You should taste this soup. Chop the onion into small pieces.
