Golds gym has been the authority in fitness since 1965 dating back to the original Golds Gym in Venice; California. it was the place for serious fitness. Golds Gym quickly became known as The Mecca of bodybuilding. In 1977, Golds Gym received international attention when it was featured in the movie Pumping Iron that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno. swimming pool and an extensive pa for complete rejuvenation plan. The gym has state-of-the-art machines Star trac and Cybex, USA. A complete aerobics studio and experienced trainers. There are swimming coaching classes and a health caf at the pool side.

Functioning internationally
The recruitment of trainers is done through a test

series which is conducted in all the branches of Golds Gym, and also according to their certificates. There are 14 trainers in pune branch which includes 11 males and 3 females. Out of them 3 are head trainers. All the major decisions are taken by the CEO after taking into consideration views of head trainers, department heads and GM.

 Planning is done by the head office in a meeting

comprising heads of all the main centres in different countries. Then this planning or order is directed to other branches in a country by the main branch of that country. And then the CEO of the gym directs and orders the officials to execute the plan. Advertisement is centralised. All the equipments are imported to various branches from USA. Trainers are given full knowledge and training about the technical know-how of the machine through experts from main branch.

 Almost all the facilities are same in all the branches but

some facilities like swimming pool, etc depends upon the area of the gym. Its not mandatory that every branch should have all the facilities. Franchisee is distributed by the main branch of the country. Once a week meeting is carried out by the CEO , GM ,departmental heads ,and head trainers. All the issues and execution of plans is done in this meeting.

 As per international standards they offer their members a

TRAVEL CARD by which they can use GOLDS GYM facilities at all participating Golds Gym for 14 days per center in India and while travelling to another country. The Golds GYM membership can be transferred to another non member if the member cannot utilize his term. The new member pays a transfer fee and uses the remaining period of his membership. Thus these were the methods through which GOLDS GYM functions internationally.
