    I am Annie Oakley. I was born on August 13, 1860 in Paterson Township, Ohio. I never attended any school.

    My father died during the war of 1812 of freezing weather. I was the fifth of seven children. I entered my first sharp shooting contest at the age of fifteen. I got married with Frank Butler. We adopted a little girl. I traveled with Buffalo Bill all my life. We were injured and I finished my career with Buffalo Bill. I gave my last performance on October 4, 1926. I died of car accident on November 3, 1926 in Greenville, Ohio. My husband died three weeks later.
