A lack of integrity can have serious consequences Schering-Plough was fined $500 million because its factories failed to comply wi th good manufacturing practice. TAP Pharmaceuticals paid a penalty of $875 million after it was revealed that sa les reps had bribed doctors to prescribe the company's products. The accounting firm Arthur Andersen was convicted of obstruction of justice for shredding files related to its client Enron while Enron was under government inv estigation. WorldCom announced that it had misstated earnings by $4 billion. Shortly afterwa rd it filed for bankruptcy. Other companies restating earnings included Enron, G lobal Crossing, Qwest, and Tyco. ...the right decision...
