Dear Governor Garcia: Greetings! SIGLO is an organization in the University of the Philippines Cebu comprised primarily of the graduating batch of the university. In line with this, we would like to request the use of the Cebu Cultural Center for our graduation this April 25, 2012. The cultural center located at the University of the Philippines Campus has been built and renovated several times for the past decade under different administrations. Finally, this school year, the cultural center is almost finished and we, the graduating batch, would like to extend our deepest gratitude to your honorable office for accomplishing the cultural center. For the past decade, each graduating batch had hoped to graduate at the cultural center during their time. However, since the structure was not finished back then, they graduated at either the conference hall or the outdoor stage. The conference hall has a limited seating, thus, most parents have to stay outside and miss the momentous event of their child. On the other hand, the outdoor stage is not a very conducive place for the graduation because of the possibility of rainfall. We would like to return the favor our parents had bestowed upon us during our years of education. We believe that giving them a better seat and seeing us go up to receive our diploma during the commencement exercise would make them be happy and have a sense of fulfillment.
