DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF SPECTROPHOTOMETRY METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF AMLODIPINE AND INDAPAMIDE IN THEIR COMBONED DOSAGE FORM.

ABSTRACT:In this study, Vierodts method have been developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of amlodipine besylate and indapamide in their combined pharmaceutical formulation dosage form. This method was performed for amlodipine besylate and indapamide at wavelength maxima 360 nm and 242 nm respectively. Quantitative estimation of indapamide was carried out by subtracting absorbance of amlodipine besylate at 242 nm while for determination of amlodipine besylate as such carried out on 360 nm due to zero absorbance of indapamide on it. The linearity range was observed in concentration range 10-70 g/ml for amlodipine besylate and 2-16 g/ml for indapamide. The accuracy and precision of method were determined by recovery studies. The result of analysis was validated statistically. The result of the studies showed that the proposed Spectroscopic method is simple, rapid, precise and accurate and can be used for the routine determination of amlodipine besylate and indapamide in bulk and in its pharmaceutical formulation.
