Biographical details: Born September 1939 in the city of Derna Education: Graduate of the College of Business and Economics, University of Libya, 1963 Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Management Experience: 1963-1963: employed by the Office of Accounts and Auditing 1964: entered into Diplomatic Service at the Consulate, and held the following positions: 1964-1967: Associate Undersecretary at the Office of the Ministry 1967-1971: Undersecretary / Secretary at Libyan Embassy, Rome 1971-1974: Chief of Staff and Head of Confidential Department 1974-1978: First Secretary and Adviser for the Libyan Mission to the United Nations, New York (this period included a period of service in the capacity of Deputy Delegate (with Mansur al-Kikhia) at the UN Security Council during Libyas 1976-1977 membership term. 1977-1980: Administrative Director for United Nations affairs at the Office of the Ministry 1980-1981: Administrative Director for Technical Cooperation at the Office of the Ministry 1981-1984: Ambassador to South Korea

No date: Participant in multiple regional and international conferences. 1984: Separated from the Libyan regime in late May, prompted by the incident outside the Libyan Embassy, London, in which unarmed Libyan student protestors were fired upon. No date: Joined the ranks of the Libyan National resistance; worked as Deputy Secretary General of the National Libyan Alliance 2005-2008: Served as Chairman for the National Conference of the Libyan Opposition

2008-2011: Served as the President of the Follow-Up Body (for the National Conference of the Libyan Opposition) until the Glorious February 17 Revolution, at which point the Conference declared support for the Transitional National Council and allocated all possible resources towards the service of the nation.
