Wheel throwing

Whether new to the wheel or if you have had one or two classes and want to learn more. We will concentrate on the basics of wheel work: centering, opening, pulling up, and trimming and a final class on glazing. Two classes, a break for four weeks to allow for drying and initial firing, and final two classes for glazing completed pieces. This is generally an adult class, but we will accept students as young as 14. Registration deadline December 3. Cost: $80 for Center members; $90 for nonmembers. *Students must also pay a $15 materials fee for clay and firing to the Pottery Dept. at the first class. Beginning/Advanced Beginning.

Frank is a local Folk Artist who works primarily in clay. He is best known for his face jugs which range from real life sculptors to whimsical creatures. Frank's face jugs are in private collections through out the United States and Canada. He has received national recognition for his research and published paper "Face Jug History."
