Sun Life Philippines' S.H.A.R.E.S.

(Sharing Hope and Resources for Education and

Social Services) Program was cited for its commendable contributions to society as well
as for the sustainability of the various community development activities that further
intensified the spirit of "volunteerism" among the company's agents and employees.
Conceptualized in 1992, .S.H.A.R.E.S. offers support to non-profit organizations
dedicated to improving the lives of indigent benefactors in areas such as the following:
Education through the Sun Life Actuarial Scholarship Program in partnership with the
University of the Philippines; sponsorship of the Fr. F. Donelan Professorial Chair in
Business Ethics at AM; and support to the establishment of the St. Luke's Medical
School.
HeaIth Care through an annual Bloodletting Drive in partnership with the Philippine
National Red Cross; continuing support to the PGH Pedriatic ward; and participation in
the annual Terry Fox Run for the benefit of cancer patients.
SociaI WeIfare Services through participation in the Habitat for Humanity house build
programs; donations to Caritas Manila; and assistance extended to families affected by
tragedies like the El Nino phenomenon, the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and the Payatas
garbage disaster.
EnvironmentaI Preservation by participating in the annual tree planting activity
spearheaded by ABS-CBN Foundation to save the La Mesa Watershed; and support
extended to UP's clam seeding program.
