SIMILAR DISHES There a lot of dishes similar to the traditional Falafel.

In the Ethiopian cuisine, a dish by the name of Shimbra Asa is a speciality and is prepared from chick pea dough. The dough is used to form different shapes and these are then deep fried. After that, they are added to a stew called wot. The spiciness is soaked, but the fried pieces remain crunchy on the outside. Dahi Vada in India is a spicier version of the Falafel. It is prepared with the exact same ingredients and process, except that the spices differ a little. These fried balls are then added to chilled yoghurt. In the Italian cuisine, the Frittata di ceci refers to chickpea fritters. Even Ambode in the cuisine of Karnataka is a fried ball made out of soaked chickpeas. Thus, the simple recipe of Falafel is quite famous, which is probably the reason why many countries have their own versions of this dish. The basic ingredients and the process remains the same, except that the names of the dishes differ. TREND With time growing and expanding, humans have modified the original recipe of falafel as it has become famous and eaten throughout the world.

A project of molecular gastronomy in Britain has created falafel ball that has been combined with tahini sauce, eaten with 65% dehydrated pita dough, beetroot puree and also olive tapenade.
