The Abstract Education as means of Upliftment of the Downtrodden

Education plays a pivotal role in bringing real transformation in any society. The problems of the downtrodden are centuries old and difficult to overcome. Social reformers like B.R Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and many others have fought for the liberation of such communities. They streesed the need for education for all as it is only tool through which a radical change can be brought in any society. This paper titled Education as means of Upliftment of the Downtrodden focuses on the developmental/welfare schemes implemented by the government since independence. It has been found that the disabilities of the downtrodden are 3 fold, viz, Educational, Economical, Social. Hence the measures adopted and policies implemented in the educational sector have been analyzed and a gradual progress in the Upliftment of the Downtrodden is observed. Educational policies and measures implemented by the government for the Upliftment of the neglected community. As education focuses on a complete transformation of a human being, it thereby paves way for the development of the nation. Hence this paper highlights the implementation in the above mentioned sectors and emphasis there is definitely a change in the standard of living of the downtrodden. The high ideals imparted through education has made them think, act, organize and channelise their society in par with rest.
