Fuel Injector Cleaning Process


Disclaimer: If you have NEVER done this before, it is recommended at you have a professional rebuild your injectors.

There are many fuel injector cleaners on the market, when selecting a cleaner be sure to do you research and also follow the manufacturers instructions.

Instructions below are generic and are only intended as a guide. The sellers of this product are not liable for any errors, omissions or other and are free of liability with regards to your use of these instructions.

1. Inspect each injector for physical damage and/or missing parts. 2. Thorough clean the external surface of each injector. All rust, dirt and corrosion MUST be moved from the external surface without damaging the injector. A bead blast may be used on metal bodied injectors. Plastic body injectors should be cleaned using a heated ultra-sonic bath to remove dirt and contamination from the external surfaces. Alternately: Soak injectors in A FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER overnight. 3. Remove inlet from each injector and inspect for rust or corrosion. 4. Remove the remaining o-rings, pintle caps and spacers. Use an air hose to blow away any remaining dirt, rust etc. The injector is now ready for servicing. DO NOT TOUCH THE PINTLE. 5. Test each injector for resistance using an ohm meter. (This measures the injectors coil windings for shorts or opens in the windings).

6. Test each injector for coil load. This is done by powering up the injectors and testing each, comparing the results. 7. Test fuel injectors at ~ 80psi for any leaks or any dirt you may have missed. A clean fuel injector have an even spray

8. If all is good, the injector is ready for reassembly.
